Lake Nakuru National Park – Flamingos Abound!

Getting There
As with many other Kenyan reserves, Lake Nakuru National Park can be accessed via flight – directly from Nairobi. Your destination will be the Naishi airstrip. While the flight is only 25 minutes long, it would be a shame to miss the splendid sights along the way.
As such, the A104 road from Nairobi is recommended for those who want to catch the natural African beauty all the way to the reserve. You will most likely enter the park via the main gate or the Lanet Gate on the Nairobi – Nakuru road.

Don’t worry, if you’re not a bird fan there is plenty of game to behold as far the eye can see.
Be sure to capture the black and white rhinos on camera if you spot them. They are critically endangered species, and who knows when you’ll have the opportunity of seeing one again? In any case, the usual African predators – the lion and leopard – also roam around the area.
Multiple herbivorous species such as the extremely rare Rothschild giraffe, the waterbuck, zebras, and gazelles can also be found here. With over 56 mammal species found in this location alone, Lake Nakuru National Park will never disappoint any casual or professional photographers and explorers.
