Getting There
Adventurers have the opportunity to fly from the capital of Nairobi straight to Amboseli Airport, which is about 1 mile away from the park. While it’s a comfortable half hour ride, you’re missing out on the important details!
Amboseli National Park holidays should start with a drive through the wild landscapes of Kenya. The smooth two and a half hour drive on the Nairobi – Mombasa highway will take you straight to the Kimana Gate, on the eastern side of the park.

Amboseli National Park accommodation is plentiful on the premises. Luxury lodges, hotels, and tent-filled camps await weary travelers. With their own built-in bars, restaurants, gift shops, swimming pools and business centers, you are sure to have a splendid time when not out enjoying the scenery.
Some are equipped with satellite TV and WiFi if you need some quick entertainment before going to sleep. Though, the locals provide traditional African dances and shows for their guests. So it would be a shame to waste time in front of a TV or computer.
Tents have mosquito nets so don’t worry about them pestering you at night. Some lodges provide personal guided walks and bird-watching, so keep an eye out for that, as well.

The towering Mt. Kilimanjaro overlooks unspoiled grasslands and swamplands where a myriad of animals hunt, loaf around, or cool off with mud baths. Elephants, hippos, and wildebeest are the some of the giants that stomp around the Kenyan plains.
