Samburu Safari – 3 Days

Samburu Safari – 3 Days

3 Day – Samburu Kenya Safari

Overview

An elegant three day Samburu Kenya safari will take you around the Samburu Game Reserve for exciting game drives and cultural activities. When it comes to lodgings, you have the choice between Samburu Sopa Lodge, Samburu Game Lodge and Larsen’s Camp.

You could be looking at luxury tents with king-sized beds and ultra-modern amenities. Modest conditions (such as single beds in the lodges) are also available for budget travelers. After all, many people just want to experience the Samburu wildlife without much regard to opulence. Still, the quality of the accommodation is never in question! Here is how your short holiday in Kenya will unfold.

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu

We transfer you from Nairobi in a 4×4 vehicle to start you off on your Samburu Kenya safari. After a scenic five-hour drive from the capital you secure your room(s) at the Samburu Sopa Lodge (or location of choice).

Have lunch in the cozy cottage restaurants while animals refresh themselves at the watering hole close-by. Imagine that, getting the real-deal African experience right at your doorstep! Nonetheless, prepare for your first game drive in the reserve. If you prefer, there are also guided walks and bird-watching sessions provided by experienced lodge escorts.

Gaze upon leopards dozing off on the naked branches of the trees. Observe the exotic Grevy’s Zebras and antelopes grazing with their families. Careful not to get lost in the enchanting patterns of the zeals of zebras! Return to your hotel for a good night’s rest in preparation for the next busy day.

Day 2: Exploring Samburu Game Reserve in Detail

Wake up early morning to admire the sunrise. There’s nothing quite as alluring as waking up refreshed and being met by the gentle rays of the Samburu sun. Embark on morning game drive in our safari vehicles. You can use the built-in game-watching hatches or pop-up roofs to get a closer look at the wildlife.

In the charming acacia forests, you can take some impressive shots of the zebras, gazelles, Cape buffalos, the occasional beisa oryx, as well as fearsome predators. Lions, leopards, hyenas, as well as crocodiles that lurk the Ewaso Ng’iro River. A safari in Kenya is a most wondrous experience.

Return to hotel for some relaxation: a dip in the swimming pool, perhaps? Another round in the reserve is just around the corner. Once you get back, consider observing the Samburu people going about their day and participating in cultural activities. Otherwise, you can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure – shopping, relaxing, and stargazing.

Day 3: Samburu Kenya Safari End and Drive to Nairobi

End your safari holiday in Kenya on a happy note, with another breathtaking game drive. It’s a great opportunity to spot elephants and hippos bathing in the Ewaso River. Or, you could ask the polite guides if they could show you the flower known as the “desert rose” – Adenium obesum. One last picture for the road, one might say.

We take you on a leisurely drive to Nairobi, all the way to the airport for your flight home. Enjoy!
