Overview

Get a diverse and in-depth look at the landscapes and roaming game of Kenya on the Samburu and Masai Mara Flying Safari.  This all-inclusive, five-day Safari in Kenya offers an unparalleled adventure through the most famous game reserves in the country along with delicious meals and luxury accommodation.

The journey begins in the Samburu National Reserve, which is home to lions, cheetahs, and leopards among many other animal species, including over 350 species of bird.  This pristine reserve is also famous for its spectacular views of the Koitogor and Ololokwe mountains in the distance.

The next stop is the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the largest wildlife reserve in Kenya and home to the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra, and Grant’s gazelle.  Masai Mara is home to over 40% of Africa’s large land mammals, including the famed “Big 5” (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant).

Day 1. Nairobi/Samburu Game Reserve

Depart from Wilson Airport in Nairobi and fly directly to the Samburu National Reserve.  On arrival, you’ll be met by your guide and ushered to the luxurious Samburu Sopa Lodge.  Once settled in, lunch will be served.  In the afternoon you can expect your first tour of the Samburu reserve.

Day 2. Samburu Game Reserve

You will spend the second day of your safari holiday in Kenya exploring the flora and fauna of the Samburu National Reserve.  Morning and afternoon excursions feature breathtaking landscapes full of grazing gazelles and towering giraffes, and you may even catch a rare glimpse of a lioness with her cubs.

Day 3. Samburu/Nairobi

After breakfast, you will board a plane and travel to Masai Mara Game Reserve.  The journey takes about two hours.  Upon arrival, a guide will take you to the picturesque Mara Sopa Lodge, your next accommodation.  The afternoon features a game drive through the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game reserve.

Day 4. Masai Mara Game Reserve

You will enjoy a full day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve where you will have the chance to spot the “Big 5.”  Day four brings a special opportunity: a hot-air balloon safari! Guests will have the option to take an hour-long ride in a hot-air balloon and see the roaming herds and wind-swept landscape from a truly incredible perspective.

 Day 5. Maasai Mara/Nairobi

After breakfast, you will have one last game drive through the Kenyan Safari.  It’s the perfect chance to say goodbye until your next holiday in Kenya.  Next, it will be time to return to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi.  Once in Nairobi, your guide will make sure you secure transport to your hotel or the international airport for your onward flight home.
