Kenya Flying Safari – 7 Days

Kenya Flying Safari – 7 Days

What better way to admire the natural African wonders than with a Kenya flying safari? You save time otherwise spent on the road and put it to good use where it counts: in the wilds. Your eyes and camera will be filled with wonder during this 7-day trip.

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli

Your first flight will be from the capital to Amboseli. You will be transferred from the airstrip and you can secure your lodgings. The Amboseli Sopa Lodge is a great choice if you’re looking for a luxurious holiday for the family. Of course, the Tortilils and Satao Elerai camps are excellent options as well (among others).

Once you have had breakfast you can enjoy yourself on a game drive. It’s a good idea to get some rest after lunch; the queen-sized beds make for some exceptional siestas! Though you can savor the camp and lodge surroundings at leisure, dip in the local swimming pools, or delight in the traditional African shows and dances.

All the above will prepare you for a late afternoon game drive. Stylish restaurants will delight you with their delectable cuisine once you return for dinner. Have a good night’s rest in preparation for the next day.

Day 2: Amboseli

A splendid day exploring every nook and cranny of Amboseli National Park. All in the safety and comfort of top-notch safari vehicles. Enjoy watching the wildlife under the protective watch of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and observe the cultural activities of the Maasai people. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all provided at your camp. Rest for the transfer to Samburu Game Reserve the next day.

Day 3: Amboseli – Samburu

After breakfast, your Kenya flying safari continues with a flight from Amboseli airstrip back to Nairobi. You will have to switch flights from here to Samburu, where you will be transferred to your camp in a safari vehicle.

Saruni Samburu Camp has a magnificent view of the plains and waterholes. You can observe the wildlife go for a refreshing drink all from the camp veranda. After a hearty lunch, you can enjoy a relaxing game drive. Dinner will be waiting for you when you return from your adventure.

Day 4: Samburu

Another day to savor the wildlife and scenery. Catch some splendid shots of the ‘big five’ along with other unique Kenyan game native to this region. Full board is provided so you need not worry about nourishment in-between drives.

If you prefer, a personal guide will walk you through the reserve. Bird-watching is also a favored activity of our guests. You can cool off at your lodge’s bars or shop at boutiques. Or, simply enjoy a sunset overlooking the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Quite a romantic spot.

Day 5: Samburu – Maasai Mara

Shortly after breakfast, you will be transferred to the Samburu airstrip, to continue your Kenya flying safari on the wondrous plains of Maasai Mara. Once again, if you’re looking for spectacular views – the Angama Mara Camp veranda overlooks the Mara. There are plenty of other lodgings on site, however.

After a delicious lunch at the camp of your choice, energize yourself for another round of game viewing. The black-maned lion is the star attraction, though the reserve houses hundreds of other animals. Elephants, rhinos, buffalos, leopards – you won’t find time to get bored here.

Day 6: Maasai Mara

An entire day to explore the expansive plains of the Mara. Keep on the lookout for the rivers packed with crocodiles and hippos. Meals provided in-between morning and afternoon drives will keep you alert.

If you’re not fond of dining indoor, you can also have a picnic-lunch in the wilds. Nothing like watching a family of giraffes basking in the sun while you snack with your own family! In the evening, we recommend a star-gazing session on the open field for an awe-inspiring spectacle. And, of course, a cozy night at the luxurious hotels to prepare for the final stretch of your journey.

Optional Hot Air Balloon Safari

Airplanes aren’t all that exciting (unless you don’t deal well with flights, that is.) How about an actual Kenya flying safari for a bird’s eye view of the action? During your stay at the Mara, you can opt for a hot air balloon safari one morning.

It’s hard to replicate the feeling you get when you look at the sunrise engulfing the waking plains, swamps, and forests. Once you land, enjoy a lavish breakfast and champagne to celebrate your fabulous holiday week.

Kenya Flying Safari Day 7 – Off to Nairobi

Don’t worry; you get one last scenic drive through the Mara and a healthy breakfast before embarking on your flight to Nairobi. Our safari vehicles will take you to the airport. You should reach the capital by lunch. On your flight home (or to your next adventure?), recall all the pleasant memories of your Kenya flying safari!
